Report writing and
presentation of evidence in court:
This stage is the last stage in the investigation process
but one of the most important stages of all. This stage is important because
this can lead to the suspect being successful proven guilty jailed for what
they have committed but it can also lead to innocent individuals being jailed
for what they haven’t done and guilty individuals being acquitted. Everything
involved in the case including evidence and report writing will be presented to
the court, to the jury in a case file. In this case file it will include a
summary of the case, a list of evidence, an analysis of the evidence including
forensic analysis, witness statements, suspect information and any other
information relevant to the case. This case vile is presented to the court, and
the jury will make a verdict based on this case file.
This stage is important because its important to sentence
the right suspect to jail and not have a guilty suspect acquitted or an
innocent individual sent to jail for something they did not commit.
The Madeleine McCann case file has not been presented in
court, to a jury because they do not have any suspects to protest against for
the disappearance of Madeleine.
